Living Shorelines

Try out a natural approach to preventing shoreline erosion with living shorelines. Living shorelines takes adavantage of native plants to establish root systems to prevent erosion. This is often paired with small reefs placed in front of the vegetation mixed with oyster shell and rock. These reefs help to weaken wave energy and provide a good habitat for aquatic species.
